Perfect feet? Surgery to fit into designer high heel shoes...Sigh!

The 'Cinderella Surgery"

Last time I checked, Cinderella was a fictional character and she doesn't actually exist. Is there a reason we want to have anything in total resemblance to Cinderella, a perfect fictional character that doesn't actually exist when we are simply existing imperfect human creatures.

Well the medical world has decided to make it possible for those insatiable women to get their perfect feet...

I pray for my future daughter, to realize that she is an imperfect human creature and to love herself just the way she is. No matter how much of herself she alters, she can never be perfect if she doesn't feel beautiful within. That the world will only continue to try to change her ever so often but even the world itself is imperfect.....

Should we feel sorry for Donald Sterling knowing he was set up by girlfriend?

Over the weekend, I heard the news about the racist comments made by Donald Sterling but I didn't listen to the actual racist rants until today. You can listen here Donald Sterling's Racist Rant

Donald Trump also recently made a statement regarding the situation. Donald Trump says Sterling was set up by girlfriend from Hell and a couple other people have also made some comments about it as well.
Donald Sterling

Donald Sterling, is entitled to his opinion but one would think that in this modern times he will be more enlightened and have an opened mind especially being an owner of a team that is one of the highly recognized teams in the NBA because of the many years of hard work and commitment of a number of African Americans over the years.

He may have been set up by his girlfriend which is unfortunate but it doesn't take away from the fact that..he made those comments and feels that way.

Such racism should not be a surprise but should not go tolerated and ignored especially in the NBA, a place many African Americans make their dream....

To the LA clipper players...good luck with the games!!

Abby of JuicyLooks gives professional advice on Eye Brows, Concealers and Foundations.

It can be fun doing makeup yourself but ladies, are you using the right concealer and foundations for your face? Are you applying it the right way? Doing your eyebrows correctly?

Abby (JuicyLooks)
Abby (founder of JuicyLooks) a professional make up artist gives us professional advice on brows, concealers and foundation.

Brows..
In my opinion, proper eyebrow grooming should be based on your natural brow shape. Brows in general are shaped differently and believe it or not they are mostly different from each other. It is my duty as a makeup artist to define them and have them in good shape without looking drawn on. There are so many products out there to help define brows. My favorite products are MAC brow pencils and Anastasia dipbrow pomade. The color i choose depends on the skintone I am working with at that particular moment. Well-groomed brows frame a face and that is why it is very important to take care of your brows by not over-waxing or over-tweezing.

Foundation and Concealer..
Foundations and concealers are used to even out skin tones. These products are also used to conceal any flaws on the face. Choosing and applying these products the right way will ensure a flawless finish without the appearance of heavy makeup.
Concealers are mostly used to work on correcting problems such as dark under eye circles, acne scars and discolorations. It is advisable to use a concealer color slightly lighter than your natural skin color. Foundations are used to even out skin tone by applying to the entire face and making sure to blend it in with your neck. It is very important to choose a foundation that matches your skin tone, even if you have to mix two different shades to get your perfect shade. There are many ways to finding out what foundation shade(s) works best for you. Before making any purchase, make sure you test the foundation out on your face and not at the back of your hand. Keep in mind that wearing heavy foundation or concealer results to a "cake-face".

Find out what debt you owe!

Student Loans?
                       Phone Bill?

                                         Credit card debt?

No! No!! No!!!

You owe God a 'THANK YOU'

I Thessalonians 5:18 says 'In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you'

Can you read this? Then give thanks you can because there are many others who have no sight to read and wish they could.
Can you stand on your feet? Can you walk back and forth? So many reasons to give thanks to God for our lives.
You might not be at the point in your life you wish to be right now but as they saying goes 'Where there is life, there is hope' You are alive so give thanks for your life. There are many who lost their lives due to unfortunate situations but regardless of all the many unfortunate situations that's going on in the world and environment around us you are still alive.

I give God thanks for your life...and you should too...For everything you have you need to give Him all the thanks!

More education = Success?

Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, Alice Walton, Mark Cuban, Oprah Winfrey, Liliane Bettencourt
A Bachelor degree, a Masters degree, a PhD... but do all these degrees automatically mean success? Can I easily work into a company of my choice and demand I get paid a large annual salary for all the years I have worked to attain all my degrees? Will I become I billionaire with all these degrees? If I have both a bachelors and masters degree is that enough? Should I go back for more?  Do people need higher education to succeed?

There are many wealthy people who actually never graduated from college. Some go back to college only after they have made their millions or billions.

An article from Forbes Magazine says More college does not beget more economic prosperity  that means a person can have just a bachelor's degree and be more economically successful than an individual with a masters degree. True? Yes. We see it everyday in every society.

Many times when we start a new job we realize many of the things we learn at the job is something we would have to learn while on the job and most often some of the things we learnt in college do not help much while on the job. Industries are evolving, so what you learned in college 5 years ago is likely not going to be useful in that same industry few more years from now. To grow or  go up the ladder most often than not requires experience and training obtained while in that job or company. Today we find out that companies are more likely to promote a person within their company who has worked with them, knows the company very well than a new person outside.

A while ago when watching one of the episodes of Shark Tank (let me quickly say I love this show, new episodes every Friday on abc!!). There was a certain person who came in to pitch their idea/business/company to the sharks for investment. All the sharks did ask them a question if they were going to quit college at that time to take their business idea to the next level of making millions and one went on to point that Mark Zuckerberg had to drop out of college to complete his project which currently puts him in the list of top richest in the world. A person watching might think oh great I should drop of of college and start making millions, no it does not work that way. The sharks made that statement simply because these people already had an idea, a business plan which needed full attention and dedication.

Why do so many billionaires drop out of college? an article written by Steven Bloom highlights some reasons why many of our world billionaires drop out of college. Many of them already had an idea, a business plan, a clearer vision of their future, innovative, willing and ready to take risk. To become a billionaire, it takes lots of work, dedication, willingness to be uncomfortable when you need to be. More college degrees don't make you successful, its the attitude, vision and drive that makes you successful.

Sex Tape!!!

It was recently all over social media, that Mimi Faust of Love and Hip Hop ATL and her boyfriend made a Sex Tape.

I do not know, neither do I have any proof it was intentional or not. However what I am trying to understand is why the tape was made in the first place? In today's world where we have had so many scandals of many people's sex tapes being leaked so randomly (...that's what they say) why do people still go ahead and take videos of themselves having sex?

What's the pleasure or goal in anyone recording such a very private and intimate moment? Is it to watch it together and get pleasure from watching and re-living that moment?

The younger generation are very impressionable and unfortunately they are beginning to embrace having a sex tape to their name. Kim Kardashian unfortunately had a sex tape leaked out years ago and luckily for her it didn't become much of a stigma to her or her family as she was able to move on from it. But remember Laurence Fishburne's daughter who decided she wanted a sex tape out and wanted to start making sex videos because she felt others have made one and were able to become much more popular as a result nad make it profitable for them. Laurence Fishburne's daughter: I've Always wanted to be a Porn Star

What happens when the person has kids and your kids see the video.

Don't get me wrong, having such an intimate moment is great! BUT if we are already aware of the unfortunate situation(s) that one might find themselves in if a video is recorded, why then do we go ahead and make a video in the first place.

Video Games Make You Aggressive

Image from sciencedaily
A typical scenario: A group of young men; college students, playing a game of Soccer, Football, or any other typical male video games and while playing you hear them utter profane language and occasionally throw their game controllers or hit them against something and make those angry viscous facial expressions.

You might think. Ugh He is so aggressive. Probably born that way. I don't want my kids playing any violent video games because they will become aggressive.

A research study Video Gamers' Aggression Born From Frustration, Not Violence: Study was made and according to the study, violent games do NOT make you aggressive. It's actually difficult games that do make one aggressive due to frustration.

Angry Birds, Candy Crush, Juice Cubes are a few of the popular games we now have on your various phone devices and these games do have quite a number of difficult levels. Many of us play these mobile games it anywhere and everywhere so if someone is sitting beside you playing a mobile video game and goes 'Ugh'...Lol! Don't panic, he is just frustrated because he's playing a difficult level...

12 year old girl gives birth

When I first saw the headline on the news, I was appalled. I am not oblivious to the fact that today, we have very young kids already sexually active. A 12 year old girl from Britain is said to have given birth to a baby for her boyfriend, a 13 year old boy.
Apparently the young couple have been dating for a few years, they met when the girl was 10. From calculations, they have known each other for about two years.
The 12 year old's mother; who is a 27 year old young lady is supportive of her daughter.
Read 12 year old girl gives birth

A 12 year old and 13 year old couple are still so young to understand what it means to have a child of their own. We have women who are in their late 20s, 30s and still find it challenging having a child. These kids (now parents) still have high school to go through and we all know High school is one of the most challenging stages of a teenager. Is it the society or the parents or both? What do we do to stop kids from having kids? How much of talking and educating them does one have to do to make them understand that having a child is a beautiful thing but they can wait to grow up a couple more years?

I remember once in New York, I was on the train and saw a very young girl with a baby stroller. There was a child in the stroller and she was also at that time pregnant with another child. She had on so much makeup that made her look a little older but her true age group revealed itself when she started having a conversation with her friend who was telling her about something that happened in their school.

I looked at the girl and thought to myself, was this unplanned, or did she know what she was getting into, what happened?

Good message from Toolz

Oh Yes! She's the beautiful Toolz
Found this article from one of the few blogs I occasionally read and Oh yea since I like Toolz, I obviously had to read. It's a very good article that I feel sends a message to many...Read Below

Excerpts from bellanaija

"We met during my final year of university; he had just moved from Houston and didn’t know a lot of people in London, and after a few random conversations about course work, he asked me out. Our first date was amazing, and after about a month of seeing each other a few times a week, I was almost certain he was ‘the one’.
After dancing around the issue for a week or two, I was finally brave enough to bring up the ‘where are we’ issue. His exact words were ‘I really like you Tolu, but I’m not looking for a relationship right now’. I had to take a moment to mentally pick up the fragments of my broken heart, then I smiled at him and said ‘No worries, it’s ok’
I avoided him for about 2 weeks as I licked my wounds and tried to regain my pride. Towards the end of the 2nd week I had miraculously convinced myself that he was only saying he didn’t want a relationship because he didn’t know how much of a fantastic woman I was. So I became his ‘standby friend’ – I was going to be on standby till he realized he actually wanted a relationship – with me!

Video: Rest In Peace Karyn Washington

Karyn Washington, For Brown Girls
Recently it was announced that the beautiful young lady, Karyn Washington, the lady behind For Brown Girls committed suicide at age 22.
It's pretty sad, for a young girl who had so many wonderful years ahead of her, to take her life.
According to this video she committed suicide not because she was insecure about her brown skin but because she was dealing with the death of her mother which apparently became unbearable for her to deal with.

Her blog, For Brown Girls is an inspirational blog that helps motivate women to appreciate and accept their beautiful brown skin.

A young lady with a heart big enough to care about uplifting other ladies, its rather unfortunate that it seems she couldn't get the uplifting and motivation she needed the most.

We all have people in our lives, who stand strong for us, for our sake. Who uplift us even without us having to ask for it, who are there to motivate us when we feel weak. Unfortunately sometimes we don't realize that even those who are strong for us, sometimes need someone to be strong for them too. We all aren't strong every time.

Let's learn to check on others who check on us. Learn to positively feed the souls of others who positively feed our souls/body/mind

May Her Soul Rest in Peace

Quotes for Today

If you want to live your life to the fullest, you must be willing to run the risk of making some people mad
~ Iyanla Vanzant

As long as you are comparing yourself to others, you will never feel good about yourself!
Run your own race
~ Joel Osteen

No matter how you feel, get up, clean up, dress up
and fight for your dreams..

"I'm sorry I killed her.." - Oscar Pistorius

You look at the picture (left) and you think. Wow! Amazing!

Then you look at this picture (right) and think Aww

Now you look at this pic (above with him crying) and think 'No! Why? What happened.."

Oscar Pistorius says "I'm sorry I killed her..I was simply trying to protect her"

There's a family who has lost a daughter and grieving and on the other hand there is a man who has lost a girlfriend and in pain; vomiting, crying and having sleepless nights. Not that what he is going through now justifies what he has done but its a sad place for them all to be in right now..

Don't they look so cute together

Watched every episode of the real housewives of Atlanta when it first aired and a few seasons after, but now I don't, except I happen to stumble upon it on TV. I guess now I just don't have interest in watching women who obviously don't like each other hang out together for the sake of a reality show only to end up fighting almost every time...Anyways this is just me digressing..

Back to the picture (Kandi and Todd)

I happened to watch the last episode and the part I liked the most in the entire episode was when Todd was talking to Mama Joyce. Why I liked it? Because Todd was calm, was polite, was respectful. Men don't like to be disrespected, or talked down upon (well no one likes to...) for no reason whatsoever. But when you are about to marry someone and the mother openly disapproves of you and creates some sort of drama, it takes a lot for a man to put aside his ego, and talk to the mother in law to be, all for the sake of the woman he loves, and for the sake of peace and love to abide.

I don't know these people but from that scene I watched, I'd say 'Todd is a good guy"

Wolf of Wall Street..Better late than never right?

Oh Yes I know I am late to jump on this wagon but I finally watched 'The Wolf Of Wall Street'. LOVED IT! It's not a movie you might want to watch with your parents in the room..LOL! Has very explicit scenes

A loud round of applause for Leonardo DiCaprio!! He was amazing in the movie. I don't know why he didn't win an award for this. Why he is also yet to receive an Oscar award baffles me...in all the years of acting, not one Oscar award yet he is indisputably one of the best actors in Hollywood.
